Hello October

hazelbank

October has arrived and blessed us with a weekend of soft mellow sunshine, crisp autumn air and calm seas. The perfect opportunity to take Boris the hound dog to Hazelbank, one of our favourite spots for an autumn stroll.  Hazelbank Park is situated on the shores of Belfast Lough and offers great views to Belfast and the east Antrim coast – it’s a popular spot for families, dog walkers and cyclists.

I managed to take a few pictures – not easy with an inquisitive basset hound in tow. As we walked around the small wood, I could see autumn is making its presence felt – from the fading glory of hydrangeas to clusters of pine cones underfoot and the golden canopy of leaves above us, nature is slowly embracing the muted, melancholy tones of autumn.

Then we made our way down to the shore,  peaking out at us from behind the trees.

And as walked along the shore, the sky and sea just seemed to merge into one, the clouds reflecting on the still waters.

All in all, a lovely afternoon spent just enjoying the simple things that inspire me – fresh air, the sea view and the beauty of autumn.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend wherever you are.
