I just thought I would share a few pictures of where I call home. The city of Belfast is just a few minutes drive away, the countryside right on my doorstep – a fairly raw and rugged landscape comprised of rolling hills and heathland, with amazing views across Belfast Lough when you make the effort to climb up to the best vantage points.
A place where the sun is shining one moment, then clouds darken the horizon the next.
And windswept trees cling on as they battle with the elements on exposed hills..
Where you discover waterfalls when walking the dog
Where town and country live side by side…
And wildflowers grow among the grasses…..
And sometimes the sun lingers for a while, turning the sky a vibrant blue…
I feel lucky that we live with such great open spaces around us – places to explore, breathe in the fresh air and get inspired by what is on our doorstep. Most of all, I love that nothing is maintained or manicured – just nature left to it’s own devices – wild, raw yet beautiful at the same time.
so beautiful! and really nice pictures! I really need to visit that part of Ireland soon….

Great portrayal of a wild landscape. Juxtaposition of city and moorland makes Belfast a unique city. Des.
