The garden at Hillsborough

A fortnight ago I took a little trip to Hillsborough Castle and Gardens. It’s a beautiful place to wander round and soak up some botanical inspiration and styling. I couldn’t help but admire the gardeners out working in the walled garden in what were rather cold and soggy conditions and I had just had enough time for a walk around before it started snowing. I took refuge for a while in the glasshouse (which I loved !) before making a quick dash back to the lovely tea room to dry out and warm up with a hot cup of tea.

February may not be the most obvious time to visit a garden, but there were encouraging signs of spring everywhere, from snowdrops to vinca major (periwinkle) and the almost translucent flowers of the winter flowering cherry blossom.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend,

Paula x

  1. A lovely share as always Paula. 🌷
In the next to the last photo, the way you framed the flowers in front of the terra-cotta pots behind them, they make a sweet frog’s face which made me smile ☺️. You have a wonderful eye.
    Have a lovely weekend,
