Boris loves a blanket. Especially a blanket you’ve just put out on the lawn so you can relax for a while in the afternoon sun. Before you even get a chance to sit down, Boris has taken charge of said blanket. He’s quite partial to relaxing too. He sits down first to strike a noble pose while he waits for you to join him. Surprisingly, basset hounds can look quite regal from time to time.
Boris loves a blanket – as you can see, he is making himself right at home

Then just as you approach , he decides he would prefer a good chew instead. And so out come those big furry basset paws to secure the blanket firmly in his grasp. It has to be said Boris will chew almost anything.

Chewing is momentarily interrupted while he stops for another pose. Hey ho – that’s another blanket lost to the basset hound. This was a particularly nice blanket from Bronte Tweeds. I’m quite partial to a cosy blanket myself. It won’t stay nice now though, now that Boris has pretty much made it his. By which I mean, soon the blanket will be covered in his dog hair. Of which he has an awful lot. And dare I say it, drool. Yes, Boris can be a bit, well, drooly. Sorry if you are eating when you read this.

But just look at that face. With such an adorable face, who really cares? I guess I can always buy another cosy blanket. I suspect, in fact, we could get through a lot of cosy blankets. But sure, he wins me over every time. He is love, happiness and pure joy in one gorgeous basset bundle !
Thanks for stopping by. I hope the mention of drool didn’t put you off too much !
