I don’t really need to say too much on this post – the picture below says it all. Please say hello to Boris the basset hound.
Boris is our little basset hound pup. We collected him on Saturday and brought him home in the hope he will share his life with us, his new owners. Boris is our second basset hound. Sadly our first hound Oscar passed away in November 2015 after 13 magnificent years . I never for a moment imagined that we would have another basset hound so quickly. However, luck was on our side, and he became ours over the St Valentines weekend.
Because it was St Valentines, I so wanted to call him Romeo. But that didn’t go down too well with hubby who was adamant he would be called Boris (after Boris Karloff). Boris is a Russian name meaning fighter. Somehow I think that is quite appropriate as he is full of energy and mischief. I think he will be quite the feisty hound as he gets older.
When we went to get him, there were just two pups left from a litter of 7. We weren’t sure which of the two brothers we would take home. But as I sat on the floor playing with them, Boris came and sat on my lap. And well, that was that. Perhaps we should also have brought home his brother. I would have loved to have been able to do that. However, I think that might have been too much for us. And too much too for my dad who is chief dog walker while we are both at work.
His official name is Blevwils Pot of Gold because of his beautiful golden coat. He is just ten weeks old. He is ridiculously cute. I have a funny feeling that there will be many more posts about Boris to come !

Thanks for stopping by,
Paula
